Francisco Simplicio, the sole pupil and successor of Enrique Garcia, was known not only for the beautiful tone of his instruments, but also for his exquisite workmanship and use of extravagant ornamentation.
In 1929 he exhibited some of his guitars at the International Exhibition in Barcelona, winning a gold medal.
He trained his nephew Miguel Simplicio and he continued the shop. Miguel Simplicio built guitars in the style and tradition of his uncle and became himself a famous luthier.

The famous ‘sound’ of Simplicio is unique among the great makers of the twentieth century – it has a very “old-world” charm, and players of these guitars often remark how they are transported psychologically to another world when playing a Simplicio.
The sound of this Simplicio is particularly magnificent – great depth to every note up the entire register with a big bottom-end and lyrical trebles.

The Hopf family has been making instruments since 1669. Since that time this tradition has been passed on from generation to generation until today. Today Hopf is one of the leading manufacturers of guitars in Germany. Many guitar builders learned with Hopf and later opened their own workshops.
Currently the company is managed by Dieter Hopf. Dieter Hopf is an outstanding guitar maker and enjoys a very good reputation worldwide.
He has contributed much to the development of the concert guitar through various advancements and patents.
Well-known guitarists who played and still play Dieter Hopf’s instruments are Baden Powell, Alexandre Lagoya, Michael Tröster, Joana as well as Joe Sander of Johnny Cash Experience.

Doieter Hopf Gran Concertio – A true master built classical guitar that costs round $5850 new today.

Since 1669 Hopf has a name in instrument making. Since then, the chronology can be fully documented to this day. The now 340-year-old family tradition and the more than 40-year experience alone by Dieter Hopf gives an idea of ​​what knowledge is represented in the Hopf guitars.
Dieter Hopf was born in Zwota / Vogtland in 1936, completed a 2-year training as a violin maker in Mittenwald and finally specialized in guitar making. Since 1968 he works as a master builder in Taunusstein.

Manuel Reyes (1934-2014) is doubtlessly the most famous flamenco guitar maker in Spain at the time of his death.

Manuel made only about 20 guitars a year. His flamenco guitars were in such demand, and his waiting list was so long, that he stopped taking new orders more than 20 years ago. Since his death, the demand for his guitar has only increased.
