Ovation USA Collectors Series 1985-1 – extremly nice vintage guitar in all original condition!
Ovation is the first manufacturer of acoustic acoustic guitars and basses with piezoelectric pickup system and has gained enormous fame, especially in the 1980s and 1990s through celebrities such as Neil Diamond, Steve Lukather or Al Di Meola. And this despite the fact that the founder Charles Kamann was actually involved in helicopter construction. But he was also an amateur musician and in 1964 he and some of his engineers developed a guitar in which he combined high-tech materials with a top made of wood, thus achieving a high stability of the instrument, but also a very balanced sound. In 1965 he founded the guitar company and subsequently built instruments totally suitable for the stage and artfully crafted with a ‘multi-hole’ design and the innovative ’round-back’.
The necks were also designed for high playing comfort and often provided the feeling of an electric guitar. This guitar from the limited edition ‘Collectors Series’ also shines with a captivating appearance paired with excellent playability. Freshly tuned and adjusted, it is an immediate joy to play with its intuitive usability and versatile sound adjustment options. Playability in a seated position is really usable on this 22 fret Ovation due to the slim ‘Shallow Back’.
The condition of this Ovation in its stunningly beautiful ‘Honeyburst’ is very good, even more so when you consider its age of almost 40 years.
It comes with the original case, some paperwork and all the sondhole covers.
