Description

Fritz Röser 1915 – finely built and richly decorated guitar, handmade in Germany!

Fritz Röser was an instrument maker from Ingolstadt. In addition to guitars, he made violins and other stringed instruments. Not much is known about him, as he apparently died young and only a few of the instruments he made exist.

This beautifully crafted guitar has a spruce top and maple back and sides. The scale length is 605 mm and the nut width 44 mm.
The beautiful inlays that adorn the entire guitar are outstanding. The time of origin (at the beginning of the First World War) and the selected motifs (Germania – on the back) suggest that this guitar is a homage to the thinking of the time about the unity and strength of the German people. The finely crafted headstock and the scallopped fingerboard are also outstanding. This guitar is truly a work of art all round.

The sound of the instrument does not have to hide from its appearance in any way. The guitar is powerful and the tone sweet at the same time – it has a deep body and this creates a sublime, almost majestic sound. Combined with the shape of the body, the sound is very finely projected and has a very sweet and mellow note.
Overall, the sound is beautiful, masterful with concert quality – the guitar was certainly an instrument for professional use.
The clarity of tone is combined with exceptional tonal flexibility. As a result, the guitar offers the magic that only an old, masterfully built guitar can produce. It has a wide range of beautiful timbres in all registers.

The condition of the guitar is very good and it has only a few repaired cracks. It plays great with a straight neck and low action.
