Gibson LG-2 3/4 1956 vintage acoustic guitar – rare and sought after are these small beauties, with their unique sound!
Produced in smaller quantities than its full-size LG brethren, the LG-2 3/4 measures 12 3/4″ across the lower bout width with a 22 3/4″ scale length. Tonewoods include a spruce top, Honduran mahogany back and sides and a one-piece mahogany neck.
This pint-sized LG has a clear, singing tone with excellent projection and sweetness, offering a boxy bark indicative of its ladder-braced design. Treble strings have a sparkling snap, and the wound strings deliver a rich percussive cut and low-midrange warmth. The instrument is featherweight and has a professional setup with a very comfortable action (guitar had a neck reset).
The Sunburst gloss nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touchup or overspray and wear is limited to a good amount of wear from playing and light finish scratches on the back and sides, with one repaired split on the top. The tuners are vintage style replacements.
The guitar comes with a newer perfectly fitting Gator case.
