Description
Yuichi Imai 1985 Classical Guitar – An extremely beautiful sounding classical guitar from this great Japanese luthier!
This guitar was craftes for Peter Lohse from the Rotenbek Trio. For over 20 years, it accompanied him during concerts with the Rotenbek Trio, showcasing its beautiful and powerful sound. The guitar is featured on five CDs, including “Cancino y Tango” and “Viento de Otoño,” where it shines in both bass and treble parts.
Yuichi Imai is one of Japan’s most revered and experienced luthiers, being an independent maker since the opening of his own workshop in 1971. Several top players, including Aniello Desiderio, Frank Bungarten, and Alvaro Pierri, have played Imai guitars. Very few of his guitars are exported due to the high demand in Japan, so it is a pleasure to have one for sale here at Vintage Guitar World.
This particular Yuichi Imai 1985 classical guitar is built with stunning materials, including gorgeous rosewood for the back and sides, along with a high-quality cedar top. The craftsmanship is exquisite as well. The scale length is 655 mm, and the nut width is 54 mm.
Sound-wise, this is a powerful concert guitar with ample volume and weighty presence reminiscent of the great Madrid instruments from the 1960s and 70s. The basses are firm and steady, while the trebles are thick, balanced, and cleanly separated, making this an incredibly versatile instrument for any musical setting.
This Yuichi Imai 1985 classical guitar is in good condition and doesn’t have any cracks or repairs. It shows some wear from regular play over the years, but it plays beautifully with a straight neck and low action. The guitar comes with the original case.
