Although he began his luthiery journey in 1948, it was after his return to Japan in 1960—following a six-month apprenticeship with Arcangel Fernandez in Spain—that he established a successful workshop. His international recognition soared in 1967 when he received a Gold Medal at the “Concours International de Quatuor a Cordes et Rencontres Musicales Internationales de Liege” in Belgium, alongside other notable winners like Daniel Friederich.
