In 2019 on a trip to Spain we happened to discover the shop and the guitars of Juan Fernandez Utrera.
We were immediately thrilled, because such magnificent sounding guitars can only be found in the price range of 5000€+++ .
That’s why we decided to include Utrera guitars in our program. We are happy to present these very good sounding guitar.
Juan Fernandez Utrera is still a relatively young guitar builder from Granada. His construction is based on the guitar builders of Granada and his guitars can compete with the best Spanish guitars.
The guitar is very light and has a spruce top and beautiful cypress back and sides.
The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width 52 mm. It has a cutaway and plays extremly well all the way down the neck.
It has a traditional flamenco sound in perfection and this is why we like Utrera guitars so much. They built guitars and you immediately know that this is how a flamenco guitar should sound.
This guitar has a fast attack and a sharp flamenco tone, which immediately excites and thrills you.
It has beautiful basses and is nevertheless a very balanced instrument. The tone is a perfect blend of beauty and true flamenco aggressiveness. If massaged by the player, it sings with a sweet voice that is warm and full, but if pushed, even just a little – it awakens with a powerful bark that only the best flamenco guitars can produce.

This guitar is in good condition. It has 2 small repaired cracks. These have been in the wood since construction and have been repaired during construction. Because of this we sell this guitar for a cheaper price.
It has a JourneyTek Classical Passive 4-piezo Pickup installed and there is also an internal microphone by SunnAudio installed.
It comes with a new guitar case.
