Jesus Magdalena Martin 2021 Lacote Romantic Guitar – a well made reproduction of a Rene Lacote romantic guitar

This year on a trip to Spain we happened to discover the guitars of Jesus Magdalena Martin.
We were immediately thrilled, because such magnificent sounding guitars are usually much more expensive. Jesus Magdalena Martin’s guitars are entirely handmade, very well built and visually extremely appealing.

This Jesus Magdalena Martin 2021 Lacote Romantic Guitar is very well built and has a cedar top and beautiful maple back and sides.
The scale length is 630 mm and the nut width 52 mm. It plays extremly well all the way down the neck, with an action of 3.7 mm E and 3.0 mm e at the 12th fret. Jesus Magdalena Martin built this guitar in the style of an early romantic guitar by Lacote.
The tuners are Wittner fine-tuning pegs, making the guitar comfortable and precise to tune.

Tonally, this Jesus Magdalena Martin 2021 Lacote Romantic Guitar impresses with a very sweet, but also very powerful tone of unusual substance. It is a very charming instrument and its sound is perfect for getting closer to the authentic sound of the music of composers such as Sor, Giuliani, Aguado, Legnani, Diabelli, Carulli, Coste and Mertz, to name but a few!
