This exceptional flamenco guitar was built in 1999 by Jesus Bellido, a master luthier who began his journey in guitar making at the young age of 10, working alongside his father and mentor, Manuel Bellido. By the age of 17, he was already crafting instruments under his own name, developing a reputation for guitars with effortless playability, remarkable sound quality, and a distinctive tonal character.
This guitar represents Jesus Bellido’s personal concert model, an instrument that embodies the essence of the great Spanish flamenco guitar. As a flamenco negra, it offers the best of both worlds—the aggressive, percussive attack of a traditional flamenco guitar, combined with the added depth, warmth, and sustain that rosewood provides.
Built with a fine alpine spruce top and exquisite rosewood back and sides, the guitar delivers a beautifully rounded, warm, and intense tone. The trebles are crisp and full of presence, while the basses are rich, deep, and incredibly responsive. The instrument is perfectly balanced, allowing for exceptional clarity and dynamic range. Struck gently, it sings with elegance; played with force, it responds with fiery brilliance and growling basses—a true flamenco beast that captures the full emotional depth of the genre.
The playability is outstanding, thanks to its low string action and a comfortable neck profile. Every note is articulate and effortless, making it an ideal instrument for demanding flamenco techniques such as picado, rasgueado, and alzapúa.
The craftsmanship is flawless, with perfectly executed edgework and a refined finish. The guitar has a scale length of 650 mm and a nut width of 52 mm, ensuring a smooth playing experience.
The condition is excellent and completely original, with only minor signs of use. A fine crack beneath the bridge has been professionally repaired by our luthier and is completely stable.
