Description

Hirade Model 7 1980 – fine and high-quality classical guitar in Kohno style

Takamine was founded in 1962 from the merger of around 30 guitar makers in Sakashita in the Kiso Valley at the foot of Mount Takamine. In 1968, Mass Hirade became chief developer and production manager and later president. In addition to his business qualities, the charismatic master luthier had many years of experience from the workshop of guitar maker Masaru Kohno and brought Takamine into the global concert guitar business. Since then, the Hirade series has stood for extra high-quality concert guitars, hand-built in the professional department at the Japanese headquarters.

This Hirade Master Arte Model 7 is a wonderful example of the outstanding quality of Japanese guitar making. The guitar has a cedar top and rosewood back and sides. The scale length is 660 mm and the nut width is 54 mm. The overall construction of the guitar reminds us strongly of Kohno’s guitars.
It has the classic “Japanese” sound from this era: clear, woody and dark.
Above all, the guitar is enormously powerful and impresses with its long-lasting sustain. The sound quality can be described as mystical with an almost magical attraction. The guitar fills the whole room with the most beautiful tones and impresses with a breathtaking variety of timbres.
An absolutely noble instrument at concert level – very finely built for the highest tonal demands.

The guitar comes with the original case.
