Description

Hermanos Conde 2022 “negra” – extraordinary guitar capturing the essence of Paco de Lucía’s iconic Conde guitars!

The story of Hermanos Conde is deeply rooted in Spanish guitar-making history. It all began with Domingo Esteso, one of the most influential luthiers of the early 20th century. In 1917, he opened his own workshop at Calle Gravina 7 in Madrid, where he worked alongside his nephew Faustino Conde from 1926, later joined by Mariano and Julio Conde.

After Domingo Esteso’s passing in 1937, his nephews carried on his legacy, first under the name “Viuda y Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso” and later as “Hermanos Conde Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso”. As demand for their instruments grew, a second workshop was opened at Calle Atocha 53, managed by Julio Conde. While the original Gravina shop has since closed, the Conde legacy continues, producing some of the finest flamenco guitars in history.

This exceptional Hermanos Conde Flamenco Negra, built in 2022, is a testament to this prestigious tradition. It is in excellent condition, with only light traces of use. The top is crafted from high-quality spruce, while the back and sides are made of the finest rosewood, the very same wood used for Paco de Lucía’s legendary guitars. The nut width is 52 mm, and the scale length measures 650 mm, ensuring a comfortable and responsive playing experience. The neck is perfectly straight, and the action is set low, making it effortless to play.

The sound of this guitar is simply breathtaking—powerful, dynamic, and deeply expressive. It offers the warmth and richness of a true Flamenco Negra, with booming basses and crisp, singing trebles. The tone is remarkably balanced and clear, with a bold and commanding presence that echoes the legendary Madrid guitars of the 1960s and 70s. This guitar embodies the spirit of pure flamenco, delivering the depth, projection, and articulation that professional players demand.

A high-quality hard shell case is included to ensure safe storage and transport for this outstanding Hermanos Conde guitar.
