Gerundino Fernandez was born in Almería in 1931 – the birth place of Antonio de Torres. He is the perfect example of a self-taught luthier. Together with his brother Eladio, who provided him with the best woods, he was one of the most renowned craftsmen in the world. There are many artists who use or have used his guitars, such as Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Joaquín Amador, Raimundo Amador or Paco Peña.

He won the first prize and the prize for the best acoustic guitar in the International Unesco Competition of Guitar builders in Paris, 1988. Gerundino passed away in 2006.

The selection of woods used for this instrument is: cedar of exceptional sound quality and with top quality grain for the soundboard. Stunning Madagascar rosewood for the body (sides and back). The  features of this guitar are beautiful, almost impossible to find nowadays… The woods were provided by his brother Eladio, who owned woods of unbeatable quality.

Thanks to the perfect selection of woods Gerundino used on this instrument, its sound is absolutely extraordinary. It offers exquisite depth and power on the bass strings, together with crystalline and clean trebles, as well as enviable balance and projection. It has a fast response and a big, woody, traditional flamenco sound. More precisely, the tone is clear and focused with a ver charming dark texture. A sound that is typical and exclusive to Gerundino, absolutely extraordinary.

It is well adjusted and plays with great ease. The guitar has 2 small repairs on the back and the frensh polish has been professionally refreshed.

It comes with the original hard case.

A wonderful concert level guitar for the serious flamenco player and collector. This guitar is the real deal and will definitelly surprise you.
