Anselmo Solar Gonzalez, born in 1918 in Valle de Nalon, was already making waves in the luthier world by winning awards for his guitars as early as 1938. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Madrid to work alongside the legendary Santos Hernandez, where he refined his skills further. After Hernandez’s passing, Anselmo continued to build guitars for Hernandez’s widow in collaboration with the esteemed Marcelo Barbero until 1948. He then established his own workshop in Madrid, dedicating many years to creating exquisite, high-end handmade guitars until his death.
This particular guitar, crafted in 1977, stands as one of his exceptional masterpieces, utilizing only the finest materials. The craftsmanship is nothing short of remarkable, reflecting the profound experience of this great luthier. It features a German spruce top, complemented by stunning rosewood back and sides.
