Description
Andreas Wahl 2004 Classical Guitar – This exceptional classical guitar by Andreas Wahl from 2004 is a remarkable example of traditional European guitar craftsmanship.
Andreas Wahl has been building guitars since the 1970s. He completed his training at the renowned Hopf workshop under Dragan Musulin and later obtained his master craftsman’s certificate. In his own atelier, he crafts high-quality concert guitars and restores historical instruments, which serve as inspiration for his handmade top models.
This particular instrument was built exclusively from native European woods. The top is made of finely grained spruce, while the back and sides are crafted from exquisite wild cherry. The neck is made of alder, and the headstock, bridge, bindings, and fingerboard feature partially black-dyed oak. This carefully selected combination of woods not only gives the guitar a unique and natural appearance but also contributes to its outstanding tonal qualities.
The sound is warm, transparent, and beautifully balanced. The basses are clear and resonant, the mids are well-defined, and the trebles have a wonderful brilliance. The guitar’s quick response and impressive dynamic range make it equally suitable for delicate solo playing and powerful chord accompaniment.
The guitar is set up to perfection and is exceptionally comfortable to play. With a string action of 3.7 mm (E bass) and 3 mm (e treble), a 65 cm scale length, and a nut width of 52 mm, it offers excellent playability for a variety of techniques.
The original French polish is still in very good condition, apart from a few minor playing marks that add to the guitar’s charm and character.
A fantastic instrument for players seeking a masterfully built guitar with a unique sound and excellent playability.
