The Yoann Charbonnier 2016 Grobert Romantic Guitar is an exceptional instrument from one of the most renowned French luthiers of our time. Yoann Charbonnier, born in 1983 in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, stands for a rare combination of deep craftsmanship, respect for tradition and modern tonal research. His work is characterized by great care in the choice of wood, acoustic precision and a keen sense of aesthetics and playing comfort.

Charbonnier's career path led him to the renowned ITEMM institute after training in woodworking and furniture making. His work in Joël Laplane's studio had a decisive influence, who not only passed on his knowledge to him, but also the traditional studio - a workshop with roots going back to the Carbonell family, who settled in France in 1922. Since 2008, Charbonnier has carried the „Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant“ label, an award for outstanding artisanal cultural heritage.

The Yoann Charbonnier 2016 Grobert romantic guitar on offer here is inspired by a guitar by Jean Nicolas Grobert and combines tradition with the tonal signature of a modern master guitar maker. The solid spruce top ensures clarity, response and subtle nuances, while the back and sides are made of beautifully flamed maple. Despite its compact construction, this guitar surprises with an astonishingly full, differentiated sound.

In terms of sound, this romantic guitar moves in a fascinating field of tension between clarity and slight compression. The sound is precise, focused and at the same time very musical. It reveals its great strength particularly in lyrical playing, with finely elaborated lines and transparent chords. This guitar reacts immediately to the touch and conveys a very direct, inspiring playing feel.

The condition of the Yoann Charbonnier 2016 Grobert Romantic guitar is very good - both structurally and visually. The instrument has been carefully built, maintained and is ready to play immediately. It has small repaired cracks on the back of the guitar. The cracks are due to the fact that 2 materials were used (spruce inside and maple outside) and the maple is very thin. However, the guitar is stable all round and has been checked by our luthier. It has a scale length of 630 mm and a nut width of 48 mm. The string action is pleasantly low and the neck is straight.

This guitar is aimed at discerning players who are looking for a high-quality romantic guitar that combines historical sound ideals with modern playability. A special guitar from a French master craftsman, which impresses both in terms of sound and craftsmanship and bears a clear, personal signature.
