This is a true rarity, a Washburn guitar from around 1930, with beautiful mahogany back and sides. It is built with X-bracing in the style of a Martin 0-18 guitar.
George Lyon and Patrick Healy began building Washburn guitars in 1864 under the second name Lyon. At that time, the guitars were still completely handmade and produced in limited quantities.
The company soon expanded and even the most elaborate guitar models were produced in series. Nevertheless, great importance was always attached to good woods and precise workmanship.
The company still makes guitars today and is one of the oldest and most traditional guitar makers.
The top is made of spruce, the back and sides are made of mahogany. The neck is made of cedar and has a light and very comfortable V-profile.
This guitar is a joy to play ... it has an authentic mojo ... you can feel it immediately.
It responds brilliantly when fingerpicking and sounds very good when flatpicking. It has the cool vintage sound you're looking for.
The body dimensions are similar to a Martin 0-18 from the same period and the guitar is larger than many other parlor-size Washburn guitars we've had before.
It is completely original, with only a few repairs. The neck has been reset and it plays well with a straight neck
