Paco Santiago Marin 1983 Classical guitar - a unique masterpiece

This extraordinary instrument is outstanding in every respect and undoubtedly one of Paco Santiago Marin's most beautiful creations. This guitar was specially made for the late Ulrich Müller, a close friend of Paco's and a respected professor and luthier in Osnabrück.

Its uniqueness is emphasized by the stunning rosewood used in its construction, with a striking pattern that captures the eye, especially on the back of the guitar. Of note is the headstock, which is adorned with Paco Santiago's signature in real gold, engraved by a jeweler friend. Only two guitars in the world have this exquisite detail, the other is owned by a Swiss colleague of Müller.

Paco Santiago Marin, the nephew of renowned guitar maker Antonio Marín Montero, was born in 1945 into a family of guitar makers. He immersed himself in the art of guitar making at a young age and honed his skills under the guidance of his father and uncle. His exceptional technical know-how and musical sensibility have led him to develop instruments that are praised by many professionals for their great projection, balance and richness of sound. Respected musicians such as Eliot Fisk, Leo Brouwer, Ricardo Gallén and Marco Tamayo have all played and recorded with his guitars, further cementing their reputation in the world of classical music.

This Paco Santiago Marin 1983 Classical Guitar has a truly remarkable sound. It delivers clear, melodically resonant trebles that sing with effortless purity, coupled with deep, powerful basses that are both precise and full of character. The tonal balance of the guitar is impeccable, each note blending seamlessly into the next. The sound has a creamy, robust tonal quality coupled with exceptional responsiveness that feels fast, lively and full of energy. The guitar's springy response is also impressive and a hallmark of the best southern Spanish instruments.

With a fine spruce top and fine rosewood back and sides, it has a scale length of 664 mm and a nut width of 52 mm. The string action at the 12th fret is pleasantly low at 3.4 mm E and 2.8 mm E.
