Extremely rare guitar from the Simplicio store in Barcelona. This guitar was built by Miguel Simplicio in the style of his teacher Francisco Simplicio.
Francisco Simplicio, the only pupil and successor of Enrique Garcia, was not only known for the beautiful sound of his instruments, but also for his exquisite workmanship and the use of extravagant ornamentation.
In 1929, he exhibited some of his guitars at the International Exhibition in Barcelona and won a gold medal.
He trained his nephew Miguel Simplicio and he continued to run the workshop. Miguel built guitars in the style and tradition of his uncle and became a famous guitar maker himself.
The famous ‚sound‘ of the Simplicio is unique among the great guitar makers of the twentieth century - they have a very “old world" charm and players of these guitars often notice how they are mentally transported to another world when playing a Simplicio.
The sound of this Simplicio is particularly magnificent - great depth in every note across the entire register. It also impresses with its great basses and lyrical trebles.
The guitar is in good condition, but has been slightly restored over the years.
The playability is excellent. With a low string action and perfect settings. It has a 52 mm nut width and a 650 mm scale length.
In addition to the beautiful and artistic carving and inlay work, the materials are striking. Above all, it is made of beautiful rosewood for the back and sides. The top is made of beautiful alpine spruce. All in all, a very beautiful guitar from this great master luthier.
It comes with the beautiful and original guitar case - with the Simplicio lettering on the inside.
