The previous owner was the German guitarist Friedemann Wuttke (see picture), who played the guitar for several years and performed and recorded with it on numerous occasions.
Matthias Dammann, an outstanding German guitar maker and pioneer in the field of double-top guitars, has devoted himself to extensive research into the acoustics of historical guitars. This included the guitars of Antonio de Torres.
He not only studied these instruments, but also patented his innovative new designs, which significantly influenced the guitar landscape of the late 20th century. Dammann's „sandwich double tops“ and later the Nomex double tops are remarkably light and give the guitars an immediate response, remarkable volume and wonderful playability.
Many renowned guitarists such as David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Andrew York, Scott Tennant, Pepe Romero and the Beijing Guitar Duo have used Matthias Dammann's guitars over a long period of time and recorded with them.
