A real dream guitar and a beautiful piece of guitar history is this beautiful Martin D-28 from 1939 - very balanced and with a warm and clear vintage tone!
It has all the coveted pre-war features: scalloped bracing, herringbone binding, snow flake fretboard inlays ... the “holy grail“ of acoustic guitars, to say the least!
We are proud to have landed this beautiful Martin D-28 from 1939. Rosewood of a quality that would bring a luthier to tears today, a perfectly golden Adirondack spruce top and honest playing marks that prove that this D-28 has not wasted the decades under the bed. The neck is light and handy and it plays so easily ...

What can we say about the sound? ... this really is the holy grail. We've never heard anything like it. Big, open, very proud ... just incredibly good sounding. These guitars are also legendary for their dynamics, projection and sustain. This guitar is a prime example of that.

It is in great condition for its age. In the 60's this guitar was brought to Martin and they patched 2 small holes in the top where a pickup was previously installed. There the guitar also received a thin nitro finish and a new pickguard.
The finish has opened up nicely and you can see the usual vintage finish cracking.
A few years later it received a neck reset, new frets and 2 small repairs (a small crack on the back and another small one on the left side of the top).
Our luthier did the final setup - the guitar plays like butter!

It comes with a high-quality but newer guitar case.

This is the real vintage deal for a D-28 that has seen a lot and is now ready for a whole lot more.
