Martin D-18 Custom Shop „Sinker Mahogany“ - great guitar with great sound quality!
This Martin D-18 Custom Shop has some special features. The premium Sitka spruce top has been treated with the VTS (Vintage Tone System) for a warm, well-rehearsed sound. The back and sides are made from premium quality sinker mahogany. „Sinker“ in this case means that the mahogany trunks sank on the river bed during rafting and lay there for several decades. Great efforts were made to bring these logs back to daylight and dry them. This process can be seen in the grain of the wood. The overall result is a warm, mid-range sound with plenty of power and very good balance. The forward shifted scalloped bracing gives the top an amazing resonance, so that the player gets a lot of feedback from the vibration of the instrument.
