Martin 5-18 1961 small sized and mensurated ‚third‘ guitar. It is a small guitar, but „full-sized“ in the sense that it is not a „travel guitar“ or a „children's guitar“, although it would be suitable for both purposes.

Many who are familiar with Martin guitars try to find a nice old one, and I seriously believe that most famous guitarists who grew up with Martin guitars have one in their collection, including Neil Young and of course Marty Robbins, who is famous for it. These 5-18s are pretty rare and don't often come up for sale.

This guitar is designed as a thirds guitar, with the intention of tuning it 1 1/2 steps higher to G.
This guitar from 1961 is in good condition. It has a patch on the right side and the bridge is a newer one. It has excellent action and playability and is structurally very sound.

The sound is just fantastic, unsurpassed with anything that comes to mind, but if you want the comparison, it's somewhere between a mandolin and a 0 size model. It has an impressive fullness and projection for such a small guitar!
