Rare opportunity - a Manuel Reyes flamenco guitar built by the great master in 1983. It has the deep and powerful sound that Reyes is known for!
Manuel Reyes (1934-2014) was undoubtedly the most famous flamenco guitar maker in Spain at the time of his death. Manuel's reputation was so great that Luis F. Leal Pinar dedicated an entire chapter to him in „Guitarreros de Andalucia“ (2004).
Manuel only made around 20 guitars a year. The demand for his flamenco guitars was so great and the waiting list so long that he stopped accepting new orders more than 20 years ago.
Since his death, the demand for his guitars has only increased. This is a rare opportunity to get one of his guitars.
This Manuel Reyes has a fascinatingly powerful sound with a structured, rich timbre and impressive sustain. The direct response and comfortable playability are also highly valued qualities of this fine guitar. A rich flamenco tone, with simply exceptional sparkling, lively trebles and crisp, powerful basses.
And finally, the wide range of timbres makes this Reyes guitar an outstanding and inspiring instrument that leaves nothing to be desired.
This guitar is perfectly set up, with a low string action and a straight neck.
The nut width is 53 mm and the scale length is 657 mm. The top is made of fine Alpine spruce and the back and sides are made of high-quality rosewood. The guitar has the original shellac finish.
The guitar is in very good condition for its age. It is a one-owner instrument that was ordered directly from Reyes at the time. It has the typical marks of a guitar that has been played a lot, with a few scuffs and scratches.
The condition of the guitar is completely original and it has no cracks, breaks or repairs.
The playability is excellent with a straight neck, low string action and well-preserved frets.
The guitar comes with a hard case.
