Manuel Reyes 1980 - highly sought-after guitar from the best Flamenco guitar makers in Spain End of the 20th century. The combination of spruce and cypress is pure magic.

Manuel Reyes from Cordoba (1934-2014) is considered the greatest and most sought-after guitar maker of the second half of the 20th century (and the beginning of the 21st).
For more than half a century, he was known for his excellent craftsmanship and authentic Andalusian sound - he always built his guitars in the heart of the old town of Córdoba, in the deep south of Spain. His guitars have been played by dozens of professionals around the world, with Vicente Amigo and Paco Serrano are perhaps the best known. . When he died, his waiting list for new instruments had been closed for years due to their enormous size.

Manuel Reyes‘ guitars are very rare and we are delighted to have this great instrument in our showroom.
It has a wonderful, dark sound with powerful basses and strong trebles. Along with an elite handful of other luthiers from the period (including Miguel Rodriguez and Arcangel Fernandez), these guitars are prime examples of mid-century Spanish style in its heyday.

This Manuel Reyes 1980 was played a lot and you can see honest signs of play and use on it.
The guitar was also returned to Manuel Reyes once for a repair. He repaired some small cracks on it and did a new fretting (with a new fingerboard).

The guitar is perfectly set up with a low string action and a straight neck. It has a scale length of 658 mm and a nut width of 52 mm.

This Manuel Reyes 1980 is for the most demanding player looking for a great sounding Reyes. This guitar is a true masterpiece, a truly remarkable and rare instrument.

It comes with the original guitar case.
