Juan Estruch 1976 - Chet Atkins Classical Guitar - very fine handmade master guitar with outstanding sound

Juan Estruch is one of the most respected guitar makers in Spain. The guitars from the „yellow label“ period, such as this one, are particularly well-known. They have a deep and rich sound and are prized by musicians and collectors alike.

They also became famous through Chet Atkins. When asked shortly before his death which of his hundreds of guitars he preferred the most, he chose his 1964 Juan Estruch without hesitation. In fact, this was the guitar that Atkins played daily and on which he made many of his „basement recordings“ that were found after his death.

Like the Atkins guitar, this one also has a yellow label and was built by the master. It has beautiful rosette inlays, a rosewood body and a cedar top, with a scale length of 645 mm and a nut width of 52 mm.

The sound of this Juan Estruch 1976 - Chet Atkins Classical Guitar has the richness, robustness and depth that guitarists are looking for. The tone is thick but clear and has an essential warm, mysterious and atmospheric quality. The sound comes with controlled and balanced layers of overtones stacked on top of the crystal clear fundamental. It has an almost cathedral-like presence that gives it plenty of power for any concert hall.

This Juan Estruch 1976 - Chet Atkins classical guitar is in good condition, with no cracks or repairs. But you can see the signs of play and use - this guitar was definitely loved and played a lot!
