After working for Estruch for several years, he finally opened his own store in Barcelona. He was a teacher to several guitar makers in Barcelona, including Antonio Manjon.
Juan Antonio Sabate works very precisely and only uses high-quality wood. His guitars are popular with professional guitarists and amateurs and he is a well-known guitar maker in the Barcelona region.

His production is limited to a few guitars per year and these are handmade using traditional methods. As he does not advertise and sells his guitars mainly to musicians in Barcelona, his guitars are hard to find.
