Hermanos Conde 1999 „Paco de Lucia special“ - spectacular sounding flamenco guitar with Paco de Lucia`s signature!
When it comes to flamenco guitars, one name stands out:
„Hermanos Conde - Sobrinos de Esteso“.
Sabicas, Paco de Lucia, Pepe Habichuela, Nino Josele, Tomatito, Moraito - and almost all the great flamenco guitarists played and still play „Hermanos Conde“ and anyone who loves the sound of Paco de Lucia will sooner or later buy one of these guitars.
What is behind these guitars and why are they world-famous?
Hermanos Conde are not just guitar makers like others, no, they have probably made flamenco history like no other. The three brothers Faustino, Julio and Mariano started out making guitars for Domingo Esteso. He was the great master, mastermind and instructor in their early years.
After Esteso's death, the three brothers gradually began to build instruments in their own style. Initially under the name Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso, but in the early 1960s it was not easy to earn a living selling flamenco guitars.
When the young Paco de Lucia finally became aware of Conde in the late 60s at the beginning of the 70s - he had previously played Ramirez - they had created their own type of guitar, with incredibly strong basses and singing trebles - simply brilliant flamenco guitars.
From then on, Paco was seen almost exclusively with Conde, which naturally found its imitators due to Paco's popularity. In the old TV recordings of the 70s, there is almost no young guitarist who didn't play Conde.
Faustino Conde, the man responsible for the construction of the old Condes, has written flamenco history.
This legend of the Condes has survived to this day.
This model is very rare, as it is a special „Paco de Lucia“ model with Paco de Lucia's signature on the label and Conde's signature. It is a very limited edition that has been produced by the workshop over the years. It has a beautiful cedar top and rosewood back and sides - similar to the original Paco de Lucia guitar. The scale length is 664 mm and the nut width is 52 mm. The condition of this guitar is very good. It has only a few very slight signs of use and wear.
It has a very nice flamenco sound and responds very well. It has a quick response and a great flamenco tone that is immediately inspiring and captivating.
It has beautiful basses and is still a very balanced instrument. The tone is a perfect blend of beauty and true flamenco aggressiveness. When gently plucked by the player, it sings with a sweet, warm and full voice, but when strummed - even just a little - it awakens with a powerful growl that only the best flamenco guitars can produce.
A beautiful guitar - simply to fall in love with!
