Hermanos Conde „Flamenca Negra“ from the 70s - a very nice guitar in the style of a Domingo Esteso!
Conde Hermanos are not just guitar makers like others, no, they have probably written flamenco history like no other. The three brothers Faustino, Julio and Mariano began building guitars for Domingo Esteso. He was the great master, mastermind and instructor in their early years.
After Esteso's death, the three brothers gradually began to build instruments in their own style. Initially under the name Sobrinos de Domingo Esteso, but in the early 1960s it was not easy to earn a living selling flamenco guitars.
When the young Paco de Lucia finally became aware of Conde in the late 60s at the beginning of the 70s - he had previously played Ramirez - they had created their own type of guitar, with incredibly strong basses and singing trebles - simply brilliant flamenco guitars.
From then on, Paco was seen almost exclusively with Conde, which naturally found its imitators due to Paco's popularity. In the old TV recordings of the 70s, there is almost no guitarist who didn't play Conde.
Faustino Conde, the man responsible for the construction of the old Condes, has written flamenco history.
This legend of the Condes has survived to this day.
This guitar is something very special. It was built in the style of a Domingo Esteso in the workshop in Calle Pozuelo de Alarcon. There is no date on the label, as was usual for this Conde workshop. It can be dated to the early 70s.
The top is made of fine spruce wood. The back and sides are made of pear wood - a very beautiful tonewood that Ramirez, Conde and all the leading workshops used alongside rosewood for their so-called „negra“ guitars.
It has a scale length of 650 mm and a nut width of 52 mm.
The guitar offers an absolutely furious sound. It is the sound that we know from the recordings of the great masters and especially from the videos of Paco de Lucia.
This guitar leaves nothing to be desired. It is absolutely powerful and has a great dynamic sound. The basses are very deep. The trebles are clear and precise. This guitar is a pleasure for both the player and the listener. The sound has developed a very beautiful and charming vintage quality.
It is well adjusted with a perfect string action and a straight neck.
The condition is very good ... it only has a small repair on the top. The guitar is completely original and in fantastic condition for its age.
It comes with the original case.
