Helmut Neubauer 1972 Guitar Lute - A masterfully crafted instrument with a deep, resonant sound
Helmut Neubauer was a highly skilled guitar maker from a traditional family of instrument makers from Schönbach (now Luby, Czech Republic). After the Second World War, the Neubauer family settled in West Germany, where Helmut continued to perfect his art. After several years of working with the renowned guitar maker Arnold Hoyer in Erlangen, he founded his own workshop in Bubenreuth in 1955. His instruments are known for their excellent workmanship and outstanding sound quality and are highly regarded by connoisseurs.
This guitar lute from 1972 is an impressive example of Neubauer's masterful craftsmanship. It has a scale length of 650 mm and a nut width of 50 mm, making it comfortable and responsive to play. The top is made of fine spruce, while the body is made of carefully crafted maple. Like all Neubauer instruments, this one is completely handmade, guaranteeing the highest precision and attention to detail.
In terms of sound, this instrument impresses with its deep, full tone and impressive volume, making it ideal for both solo playing and ensemble performances. Its resonant, multi-faceted sound combines warmth and clarity and is reminiscent of fine historical lutes, while retaining the playability of a classical guitar.
This guitar lute is in very good condition, excellently preserved for its age, and represents a rare opportunity for musicians and collectors who appreciate high-quality handmade instruments. A truly special piece that combines tradition, history and exceptional beauty of sound.
The instrument is supplied with the original bag.
