Spectacular sounding Guild Navarre F-50 1966 - built in Gibson Jumbo style, it has a convincing vintage sound!
Guild is one of the major US guitar manufacturers alongside Martin and Gibson. The company was founded in 1952 by Alfred Dronge and George Mann. By 1956, Guild was so successful that it had to move to larger premises in Hoboken, New Jersey. Some of today's highly sought-after Guild guitars were built here.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Guild supplied many famous musicians and became increasingly popular.
This magnificent F-50 comes from the golden age of Guild. It is the „old“ F-50 shape, which clearly stands out as a competitor to the venerable Gibson Jumbo.
It has a low string action and plays like a dream. Very comfortable and easy to play neck, with 42 mm nut width.
Yes, it's battered (to say the least) ...., but the great ones always seem to be! The sound is resonant and powerful, with a full and deep tone. It has all the vintage warmth you could wish for and is a truly charming instrument. The guitar impresses with its high volume, big basses and wonderful clarity.
This 1966 Guild Navarre F-50 is in rough condition, mainly because the paint was peeling. It also has a pickguard crack that has been repaired.
The peeling of the varnish was stopped by our luthier, so that the existing varnish adheres relatively stably to the guitar.
It comes with a newer case.
