Ohh man, what a beast ... this 1951 SJ-200 really is a killer guitar ... The true king of flattops!

Up for sale is this 1951 Gibson SJ-200 in Tobacco Sunburst finish. You just have to trust us on this one: this is the best sounding SJ-200 we've ever come across!
It sounds the way you always want it to and often don't get it: very voluminous, with lots of bass and beautiful clarity (NOT THIN).

It has a low string action and plays like a dream. Very comfortable and with an easy to play neck with a medium C profile.
Yes, it's battered (to say the least) ...., but that's always the case with the good ones! What makes the guitar really interesting is that although the serial number and FON date it to ’51, it has some late 40’s specs. These include that it is single braced (as opposed to the double bracing they went to in '52), and that the side of the headstock thins out towards the top (which was changed in 1951).

The guitar is completely in original condition, with the exception of the varnish on the sides ... these have been professionally repainted true to the original. The guitar has „war scars“ all over and also some repaired cracks. These are old repairs and well done.
Our luthier has checked the guitar and it is ready for the next stage!

It comes with the original case.

This guitar has all the magic you dream of ... a real gem!
