This Gibson LG-2 1946 is one of the best sounding Gibsons ever! An intimate, harmonically rich acoustic guitar with a lot of vibe and a great, „open“ tone as well as excellent playability.
A very rare piece from the early post-war period with mahogany back and sides.
It has a beautiful solid spruce top with a beautifully aged warm sunburst finish, a mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a rosewood bridge. It also has the original Kluson tuners (replaced buttons).
This guitar is in very good condition for its age - it has normal lacquer cracks and light wear from playing and use. No cracks or breaks. The neck has been reset and the action is 2.3 mm E and 1.8 mm e at the 12th fret. The bridge still has plenty of play.
The guitar is excellent to play and has good angles. The notes on this guitar literally jump out of the fingerboard - a great example of an early Gibson!
The serial number is not legible.
This Gibson LG-2 1946 comes with the original case.
