Introduced in 1932, the Gibson L-7 was Gibson's most popular professional-sized archop. The last model without a cutaway rolled off the production line in 1955. The L-7, which was identical to the expensive L-5 except for its appearance, was highly prized by professional players for its warmth, projection and playability.
Wartime instruments are the rarest of Gibson's guitars, as the factory was converted to defense production and only a small crew remained to finish the instruments ordered.
This is a great sounding archtop with lots of vintage appeal and excellent playability. It delivers a warm sound with nicely defined basses, mids and highs. The action is exceptionally comfortable and suitable for virtually any playing style.
The guitar is in restored condition, with a repaired crack on the top and a sealed hole from a previously installed pickup. All repairs have been professionally carried out and the guitar is ready to play.
It is supplied with the original case.
