Gibson J-50 1947 - a real monster of a guitar, with a cool Frankenstein look and a sound to die for!
This guitar sounds really amazing! We have analyzed it a little to explain the reason for this phenomenon. First of all, the guitar is light as a feather, the woods are so perfectly dried and matured that the guitar has an incredible resonance.
But it is also equipped with the best materials ... high-quality spruce for the top and very beautiful mahogany for the back and sides.
But the real reason for the incredible sound is the fact that this guitar is a player with character and soul. Over the years, this guitar has simply been played, loved and has always been a faithful companion. When you play this guitar, you understand why it has been repaired and brought back to life over the years... it was simply indispensable.
Questions like: How many cracks does the guitar have? ... what has been repaired? etc. are probably the wrong ones!
Even we can't quite keep track of what has been done to this guitar ... but one thing is for sure, it's super solid and plays like a new guitar. That's because it has been given a neck reset, a refret and a new bridge.
The guitar has been lightly varnished. It had a wooden pickguard on the left side, which has been removed.
The entire structure of the guitar is stable and we have checked it thoroughly - it is ready for the next stage and is waiting for a new home.
The FON on the inside is faded - 1947 was the last year Gibson used a script logo and the first year they built the J-50 model.
A solid, non-original case is included.
An interesting point is that Bob Dylan also played such a battered Gibson J-50 in his younger years.
