Gibson J-45 1947 - this guitar has a great sunburst finish and sounds like a cannon!
In the period after the Second World War, Gibson produced guitars to a very high standard. Handcrafted with the best materials and in small quantities - these guitars are highly sought after in expert and collector circles, and rightly so.
The Gibson SJ has a spruce top with mahogany back, sides and neck.
The finish of this model is a dark sunburst, which was the most famous Gibson finish at the time. It has the inlays and ornamentation typical of this model.
This Gibson J-45 1947 sounds great - there really is nothing that comes close to that vintage Gibson tone and this guitar is a prime example. Powerful, woody lows and crisp, cutting highs combine with strong, bold mids for that signature Gibson sound.
The guitar is lightweight and has the famous springy response. The woods resonate incredibly well and give this beautiful guitar a very charming, woody sound.
It is in good and original vintage condition. It only has 2 repaired cracks on the back (very professionally repaired). The machine heads have been replaced with Kluson vintage machine heads.
It has been given a neck set and the string action is pleasantly flat. It is incredibly easy to play and a lot of fun to play!
It comes with a case from the 50’s.
