Gibson J-35 1938 sunburst - original and rare pre-war Gibson guitar. A fantastic opportunity to get the real Gibson pre-war dreadnought sound.
In the period before the Second World War Martin and Gibson new guitar models. Handmade with the best materials and in small quantities.
The J-35 was introduced in 1936 and built for 6 years until it was replaced in 1942 by the Model J-45 was replaced.
The Gibson J-35 has a spruce top with mahogany back, sides and neck.
The finish of this model is a dark sunburst, which was the most famous Gibson finish at the time.
This 1938 Gibson J-35 model is in good condition and sounds great - it's very full, brilliant, lively and responsive.
The guitar is as light as a feather and produces the most beautiful tones imaginable. The woods vibrate incredibly and give this beautiful guitar a very charming woody sound.
It is in very good and original vintage condition. It has been given a neck reset. The top and back are in excellent condition and you can only see small repaired cracks on the sides if you look closely, but these are old and stable. The knobs on the machine heads have been replaced.
It is in fantastic vintage condition considering its age.
The string action of this Gibson J-35 is flat and it plays well with a straight neck.
It comes with the original and battered, but functional guitar case.
