Gerundino Fernandez 1992 flamenca negra - one of the most beautiful sounding rosewood flamenco guitars we have ever had! Gerundino is one of the greatest guitar makers of the second half of the 20th century - this guitar really is one of the best!

Gerundino Fernandez was born in 1931 in Almería - the birthplace of Antonio de Torres. He is the perfect example of a self-taught guitar maker. Together with his brother Eladio, who supplied him with the best woods, he was one of the most renowned guitar makers in the world. Many artists such as Vicente Amigo, Tomatito, Joaquín Amador, Raimundo Amador or Paco Peña have used or are using his guitars.

He won first prize and the prize for the best acoustic guitar at the Unesco International Guitar Making Competition in Paris in 1988. Gerundino died in 2006.

The selection of woods used for this instrument is: cedar of exceptional sound quality and with a high-quality grain for the top. Beautiful Madagascar rosewood was used for the body (sides and back). The elements of this guitar are beautiful and almost impossible to find nowadays... The woods were supplied by his brother Eladio, who had woods of unbeatable quality.

This Gerundino Fernandez Flamenca has a scale length of 658 mm and a nut width of 52 mm.

Thanks to the perfect selection of woods Gerundino has used for this instrument, its sound is absolutely exceptional. It offers exquisite depth and power in the basses, crystal clear and clean trebles and impressive balance and projection. It has a quick response and a big, woody, traditional flamenco sound. More specifically, the tone is clear and focused with a very charming dark texture. A sound that is typical and exclusive to Gerundino, absolutely exceptional.

It is well set up and plays with great ease. The guitar has 2 small repairs on the back and the shellac polish has been professionally refreshed.

It comes with the original case.

A wonderful concert level guitar for the serious flamenco player and collector. This guitar is truly good and will definitely surprise you.
