Gerhard Oldiges 2001 - excellent classical master guitar in the style of a Torres with elements of Hauser!

Gerhard Oldiges began making guitars at the end of the 1970s during his studies and completed a two-year apprenticeship as a guitar maker after graduating. He then worked in a guitar repair workshop and in 1988 took part in a guitar making course with José Romanillos, with whom he was friends and whose courses he has attended regularly since 1996. Gerhard Oldiges is intensively involved with the history of Spanish guitar making. A particular focus of his work is the reproduction of old Spanish master instruments by Antonio de Torres, Vicente Arias, Manuel Ramírez and others.

Inspired by the guitars of Hermann Hauser I and Antonio de Torres, this instrument is a true masterpiece. The guitar has a fine spruce top and back and sides made of Indian rosewood. The scale length is 650 mm and the nut width is 53 mm.
Julian Bream opted for a similar Oldiges many years ago after noticing that the weight, feel, neck shape and strings felt almost identical to his 1940 Hauser. Bream also liked the sound quality, the Hauser-style balance and the volume of the guitar as much as his Hauser, which is quite remarkable and speaks for the guitars of Gerhard Oldiges.

The sound of this guitar combines the best of both styles (Hauser and Torres) in a very interesting way. The guitar has well-defined notes with great balance and separation and is at the same time loose, warm and dark.
The range of sounds, textures and colors you get with this instrument is simply breathtaking.
The guitar is also easy to play and is well suited for longer playing sessions.
In addition, the design of the ornamentation emphasizes the class and elegance of this instrument.

This charming instrument is in very good condition with only a few signs of use and wear.

This guitar is a real gem for players who are looking for modern features such as powerful sound and excellent playability, but who don't want to miss out on a traditional sound character.
