Master guitar by guitar maker Francisco Pau (1830-1890) from Valencia - aesthetically and tonally an outstanding masterpiece.

Francisco Pau comes from a family of guitar makers. He took over his father's workshop and initially learned from him. He also refined his craftsmanship with A. Hernandez Carbonell, an outstanding guitar maker.
The guitars made by Francisco Pau are not only visually appealing (as is the case with many guitars from Valencia). In terms of sound, they also belong to the pinnacle of guitar making at the time and are considered to be among the best master guitars of the period.

This guitar can be dated to around 1880. With a five-fret fan bracing and a very finely crafted spruce top, it is an absolute masterpiece of the time. It is very similar to the guitars made by Torres, who was still alive at the time.
The materials are of high quality, the workmanship is excellent and the decorations are magnificent.
A beautiful spruce top was used for this guitar, while the back and sides are made of high-quality rosewood, which was difficult to obtain at the time. The ebony fingerboard is also a sign of the high quality of the instrument.

The appearance of the guitar is an absolute delight. The fine inlays are unique and you can only imagine how many master hours went into the construction of this wonderful instrument.
The scale length is 637 mm and the nut width is 50 mm.

With its large body and finely crafted top construction, this guitar is a true revelation in terms of sound.
The sound is robust and lively, with lots of charm and personality. In addition, the guitar develops great depth in every note across the entire register with a great bass and lyrical highs.
The guitar is incredibly assertive and can definitely hold its own in the large concert hall.
But it is also very lively and has a „friendly“ tone with great charm and personality. A truly outstanding master guitar.
Such a guitar in this condition with this sound quality is hard to come by, so we are proud to present this very rare and collectible instrument.

This guitar gives you the perfect opportunity to authentically revive the great master compositions of the time.
The guitar is in restored and playable condition!
