This flamenco guitar by Francisco Manuel Díaz, one of the most famous pioneers of the world-famous guitar making school in Granada, is an extraordinary guitar inspired by the guitars of his teacher Manuel the Chica!

Francisco began his career at the age of 16 in the best workshops of his time. His first master was Eduardo Ferrer. After a few years, his enthusiasm led him to work with the master guitar maker Manuel de la Chica. He founded his own workshop in Cuesta de Gomérez in 1965.
As a professional guitarist, he has accompanied artists such as Fosforito, Fernanda de Utrera, Eva La Yerbabuena, Manuel Liñán and others. He released several albums between 1980 and 1990.
His guitars are known for their good construction and sound quality. Francisco taught his brother Rafael Diaz, Antonio Arroyo, Juan Miguel Carmona and his sons Victor Manuel and Francisco Manuel Díaz Sánchez the art of guitar making.

This guitar has a spruce top and cypress back and sides. The scale length is 654 mm and the nut width is 51 mm. It dates from the late 60s, early 70s - the date on the label has unfortunately faded.

It is a typical light flamenco guitar in the old style from Granada. The sound is unbeatably crisp and powerful. The tone is very big with very precise basses and clear trebles. We compared it with our Manuel de la Chica instruments - these instruments are really similar.

A very beautiful instrument, exceptional because of its history, its unique sound and the magic of the old spruce top. Over the years spruce gets better and better and this over 50 year old spruce top gives so much extra color, depth and brilliance that it is a real pleasure to play this guitar.

The guitar was professionally restored in Granada and the entire shellac was refreshed.

The guitar is supplied with a matching hard foam case.
