This Epiphone FT-90 El Dorado 1966 is an absolute cannon! Not just because the Beatles played Epiphone guitars ... it sounds sooooo stunningly beautiful, looks absolutely cool and plays fantastically.
This guitar sounds better than many of the '60s Gibsons we've had and it's an incredibly cool old vinatge player. It also has a wider and more comfortable neck than the Gibson guitars of the same era, with a 42mm (1,650″) nut width.
Epiphone was bought by Gibson in 1957. Gibson moved its headquarters from New York to Kalamazoo and for many years Epiphone produced basically the same guitars as Gibson, just under a different name and with a slightly different design.
Musicians such as Paul McCartney of the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain, to name but a few, made these guitars world-famous.
This beautiful Epiphone FT-90 El Dorado is from 1966 and is basically the same guitar as the Gibson Southern Jumbo Natural.
It has a beautiful open vintage sound. Experts can tell from its appearance alone that this guitar is something special.
But when you hold it in your hands, it reveals all its charm - growling basses combined with a fine vintage touch throughout the sound. The sound has a woody quality that gives the guitar an almost mystical atmosphere.
At the same time, the guitar is very well balanced and offers the most beautiful timbres.
It is very easy to play and has a straight neck with a low string action and well-preserved frets.
Obviously the guitar has been played a lot over the years and has that irresistible vintage look. It's in great vintage condition and 100% ready for the next stage!
It comes with the original case.
