Eladio (Gerundino) Fernandez 1989 Flamenca Negra - beautiful handmade flamenco guitar with a powerful and deep sound

Eladio Fernandez is the brother and student of the renowned Gerundino Fernandez, one of the most respected names in flamenco guitar making. While Gerundino built his reputation as a master luthier, Eladio traveled the world as a professional flamenco guitarist, performing on prestigious stages and perfecting his understanding of the instrument from a player's perspective. This deep connection to music later shaped his own guitar making when he began making guitars with his brother.

The Fernandez brothers' workshop is still located in Almería - a city with a rich guitar-making tradition that is considered the birthplace of the modern guitar, in particular thanks to the legendary Antonio Torres. Their instruments embody this tradition and combine masterful craftsmanship with the requirements of professional musicians.

Built in 1989, this guitar is an impressive example of Eladio Fernandez's craftsmanship. The finely seasoned spruce top gives it an outstanding sound development, while the beautiful rosewood back and sides add depth and warmth to the sound. With a scale length of 660 mm and a nut width of 53 mm, it offers comfortable playability and enables effortless playing across the entire fingerboard.

The sound of this guitar is simply exceptional - deep, resonant and superbly balanced. The trebles are clear, brilliant and precisely defined, while the basses sound powerful and voluminous. The balance between the registers is impressive and makes it an extremely versatile instrument. When played with vigor, it develops a penetrating, powerful presence, while when played softly it sings with a warm, melodious voice, full of expression and nuance.

This guitar embodies the highest standards of a masterfully built flamenco guitar. Its dynamic sound range, fast response and exceptional tonal beauty make it a first-class choice for stage and studio.

The guitar is in very good condition and has been carefully cared for over the years. A professionally repaired top crack has no effect on its structural integrity or sound quality. It is supplied in a high-quality hard case that offers optimum protection.

An exceptional instrument with a deep connection to flamenco history - this Eladio Fernandez guitar is a rare discovery that combines excellent craftsmanship with the authentic soul of Spanish guitar making.
