Anton Hofmann ~1860 Viennese guitar in Stauffer style - outstanding sound characteristics!

Anton Hofmann (* 2.6.1815 Vienna, † 14.7.1871 Vienna) was a famous instrument maker in Vienna.
Hofmann was a pupil of the famous Johann Martin Stoss, who was the imperial royal court violin and lute maker in Vienna.
After his death, Hofmann continued the business with his widow. In 1844, he bought the business, which was still called „Stoß & Hofmann“ until 1854.
Like Stoss, Anton Hofmann was a royal court instrument maker, which was noted on the labels of all his instruments.
Anton Hofmann is known for his outstanding work in instrument making and his guitars are extremely popular.

This guitar was expertly built using very high-quality materials.
One-piece maple back, height-adjustable Stauffer neck, top-quality Stauffer tuners, subtle ornamentation - plus impeccable and masterful workmanship ... all this makes this guitar a very fine instrument.
The guitar also has a larger body than normal romantic guitars. It is certainly a masterfully crafted instrument that was played by a professional musician in the concert hall.

The maple used for the back and sides is of outstanding quality. The guitar also has a very fine spruce top. The guitar is inspired by Stauffer guitars.

The condition of the guitar is fantastic and it plays very easily with a straight neck and low action.

The guitar sounds classy and immediately impresses with a very complex tone. The basses are deep and the trebles are soft, lively and colorful with great expressiveness.
As soon as you play the guitar, you have the impression of merging with the instrument, because the sound is very touching, this guitar awakens deep emotions and you can literally feel how the notes jump out of the instrument.
In any case, a romantic guitar at a very high level, with which you can authentically revive the music of that time.
