Anton Hofmann (* 2.6.1815 Vienna, † 14.7.1871 Vienna) was a famous instrument maker in Vienna.
Hofmann was a pupil of the famous Johann Martin Stoss, who was the imperial royal court violin and lute maker in Vienna.
After his death, Hofmann continued the business with his widow. In 1844, he bought the business, which was still called „Stoß & Hofmann“ until 1854.
Like Stoss, Anton Hofmann was a royal court instrument maker, which was noted on the labels of all his instruments.
Anton Hofmann is known for his outstanding work in instrument making and his guitars are extremely popular.
This guitar was expertly built using very high-quality materials.
