First Gibson flattop guitar, Robert Johnson, Nick Lucas, blues and blues rock guitar ... when it comes to the Gibson L-1, the superlatives come thick and fast.
Here we have a beautiful 1927 Gibson L-1 that has a cool Mississippi Delta Robert Johnson blues vibe.
In 1926, this guitar was introduced for the first time as a „flattop guitar“, having caused a sensation among guitarists many years earlier as an archtop guitar.
Guitarists like Nick Lucas and Robert Johnson made music history with the L-1 and it was Gibson's best-selling model at the time.
This L-1 sounds fantastic... woody, dry, bluesy. The mahogany back and sides give the guitar a magical tone. The beautiful spruce top produces the most beautiful timbres imaginable.
This guitar was completely restored a few years ago. Several cracks were glued. Care was taken to leave the guitar in its original condition with the original sound.
The guitar is very easy to play with a low string action and a straight neck.
It is supplied in a non-original guitar case.
