Michael Wichmann 2017 Simplicio Classical Guitar - A tribute to the famous and award-winning master instrument by Francisco Simplicio

This extraordinary Michael Wichmann 2017 Simplicio classical guitar is an impressive example of the highest level of contemporary guitar making in a historical tradition. It was crafted by renowned German master guitar maker Michael Wichmann and is a detailed replica of the legendary guitar with which Francisco Simplicio won first prize at the 1929 World Exhibition in Barcelona. This instrument is therefore directly in the lineage of one of the most important classical guitars in music history.

Michael Wichmann is one of the most experienced and versatile guitar makers in Europe. He began making guitars at a young age and gained experience over decades in more than 20 workshops throughout Europe. His travels through Spain, France and Portugal, where he intensively studied the historical construction methods of the great masters, were particularly influential. Today, Wichmann works in Hamburg and is known for his concert guitars and high-class replicas of historical instruments that combine precision craftsmanship with musical depth.

This Michael Wichmann 2017 Simplicio classical guitar was built with the utmost care from selected tonewoods. The guitar top is made of fine spruce, while the back and sides are made of fine satin. This combination of woods ensures an extremely balanced, colorful and powerful sound. The scale length of 650 mm and the nut width of 52 mm offer comfortable and confident playability, which suits both demanding concert guitarists and sensitive sound aesthetes.

In terms of sound, the guitar impresses with a fast, direct response and a long, singing sustain. The basses are warm, deep and structured, while the trebles remain clear, present and elegant. The balance across the entire fretboard is particularly impressive - chords sound homogeneous and sustainable, while individual notes emerge precisely and expressively. The dynamic range allows for the finest nuances as well as powerful musical accents.

The guitar is in very good condition. It only shows slight traces of use due to its age, which do not detract from its high-quality overall impression. Technically and structurally it is in perfect condition and has been carefully checked. The guitar comes in its original case with the 2 Wichmann documents.
