Francisco Pau ~1890 - an outstanding masterpiece of guitar making - this guitar is extremely light and has that great old sound we are looking for.

Francisco Pau came from a family of guitar makers. He took over his father's workshop and initially learned from him. He also honed his skills with A. Hernandez Carbonell, an outstanding guitar maker.

Francisco Pau's guitars are not only visually appealing (as is the case with many guitars from Valencia). In terms of sound, they also belong to the pinnacle of guitar making at the time and are among the best master guitars of the era.

This guitar can be dated to around 1890. With a spruce top with ninefold bracing and very finely crafted cypress sides and back, it is an absolute masterpiece of the time. It is very similar to the guitars made by Torres, who was still alive at the time.

The materials are of high quality and the workmanship is excellent. Compared to most other guitars of the time, it has a large body. The scale length is 645 mm and the nut width is 50 mm. The string action at the 12th fret is 3.3 mm E and 2.8 mm e. The bridge inlay still offers enough leeway for future adjustments.

The guitar has a very charming, woody tone - it has that typical old sound that we like so much. Due to its light weight, it responds immediately and is very lively.

It has a clear sound, rich overtones, pronounced trebles and beautiful basses. It is quite impressive that such a sonorous and fine instrument was built more than 130 years ago.

The guitar impresses with a very natural, woody sound nuance - very stylish, refined and seductive. In the hands of the player it feels very expressive and responds to the most subtle changes in touch. The sound is absolutely magical from the lowest to the highest registers.

This guitar gives you the perfect opportunity to authentically revive the great masterpieces of the time.

The guitar is in restored and playable condition!
