Telesforo Julve 1930’s – highly decorated and beautiful sounding classical guitar – this guitar is exceptional and we have never seen anything like it!
The instrument belonged to Professor Guillermo Salinas, who was a well-known guitarist and teacher in Mexico.
Telesforo Julve (1884 – 1945) is a very important personality among Spanish guitar makers. He is the nephew of Andres Marin and many famous masters worked in his workshop. Among them were Ricardo Sanchis Nacher and Vicente Tatay.
In 1931, he took over the workshop of Salvador Ibanez e Hijos, from which some of the best guitar makers also emerged. Telesforo Julve’s guitars are very popular with collectors and guitarists.
This highly decorated guitar from the 1930’s was built with the best materials and the most elaborate inlays. It is hard to imagine how many hours went into making this guitar.
It has a spruce top and rosewood back and sides. The scale length is 648 mm and the nut width 51 mm.
The sound of the instrument does not have to hide from its appearance in any way. The guitar is powerful and the tone is sweet at the same time – it has a deep body and this creates a sublime, almost majestic sound. Combined with the shape of the body, the sound is projected very finely and has a very sweet and mellow touch.
The clarity of the tones is combined with exceptional tonal flexibility. The guitar thus offers the magic that only an old, masterfully built guitar can produce. It has a wide range of beautiful timbres in all registers.
The guitar is in very good condition for its age. It has been very well kept and hardly played. There is a small repair on the top. The action is perfect and the neck is straight.
