Description

This Gibson LG-2 1943 is as sweet sounding as they come! An intimate, harmonically rich acoustic guitar, with a ton of vibe and a great “opened-up” tone as well as excellent playability.

A very rare piece from the Banner period with spruce top and mahogany back and sides. The nut width is 44,5 mm and it has that great feeling thick neck profile from the wartime.

This guitar is amazing shape for it’s age – it does have normal finish checking and some finish wear from play and use – no cracks or repairs. The guitar comes from the collection of Helmut Grahl, who was a well-known musician, textbook writer and guitar collector/expert. It comes with the original case.

The guitar boasts excellent play-ability with good angles. Notes just jump off the fingerboard of this one – is a great example of an early Banner Gibson!
