Alberto Hernandez started his career as an apprentice in Francisco Esteve´s guitar workshop. Currently, he is the Chief craftsman, in charge of the production of Juan Hernandez´s Guitar Workshop and Francisco Esteve´s Guitars, taking care of the details, quality and the good work done in these two workshops, being responsible for their 40 craftsmen.
Some years ago Alberto Hernandez launched a new flamenco guitar model: “Tribute to Marcelo Barbero” under his own name.
These guitars are handmade in Spain and still their price really is affordable compared to the high quality standart these guitars have.

Taking Marcelo Barbero´s model of 1953 as a starting point, one can imagine the quality of the resulting work of art. Marcelo Barbero is one of the greatest guitar makers in history, and every single detail has been carefully respected and followed, thus maintaining the same dimensions, scale, size, and aesthetics as the very original instrument.
This Alberto Hernandez – Marcelo Barbero Flamenco Guitar has a spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. The scale lenghts is 650 mm and the nut width 52 mm.
The sound of this guitar is spectacular, of powerful quality and great resonance. It has a fullness in the basses and a surprising clarity and melody in the trebles. The quality of the volume and the personality of the guitar elevate this instrument to the top category of flamenco guitars.
